Gortgarrigan bridge with the falls upstream which are directly below the front garden and the view downstream
Some 100m down the road from the cottage is Gortgarrigan bridge and the view upstream from it. The bridge has its place in nature by being the home for a colony of bats and the river which runs from Glenade down through Lough Gill and out to the estuary into Sligo bay is one of Leitrims premier salmon/seatrout and trout rivers and also produces some good course fish.
Glencar lake overlooked by Benbulben, Glencar waterfall, the Drowse river running into Donegal bay and Belhavel lake
For those of you who want peace and some real relaxation look no further, just lay back on one of the upstair beds and listen to the sound of the Bonet river running down over the falls just across the lane.
for the hikers out there there is mile upon mile of walks and mountains to trek over.
If your a game or course fisherman you will be spoilt for choice, not only have you one of Leitrim's premier rivers just 20 yards from the house but within a mile there is corrigancor lake and 3miles belhavel these would be more for the course anglers but now that pike on the fly is gaining popurality they would serve both, but make sure your gear is up to 25lb+ monsters
Loughs Gill and Melvin within 12miles along with the river Drowse
and Duff. 15 to20 miles you have Sligo town, Ballyshannon, Bundoran,
Mullaughmore and Donegal bay
